What's new

The latest features and improvements in Rantevo.

  1. Your site's design has been refreshed

    Improved

Your photos, services, team and hours on one page, laid out for a phone.

Your site's home page is now one page about your business, in the order a customer reads it on a phone: your photos, your name and where to find you, your services, your team, and a card with your hours and how to reach you. Reviews, your story, before-and-after pairs and your questions come after that. On a computer, the card sits beside the page.

You change it in Appearance, where the page is listed top to bottom and each part has its own row, Team and Hours and contact included.

Your words, photos, logo and colour carry over. The page's structure is no longer a setting, so the layout, headline and effect options are gone, and your categories no longer show an icon. A service shows its photo if it has one.

  2. Your calendar in your team's colours

    Improved

Each person's appointments in their own colour, in the day and in the week.

Every appointment on the calendar used to be the same tint of your brand colour, so when several people worked the same day, you had to hover over an appointment to see whose it was.

Each person on your team already has a colour: the dot beside their name on the dashboard, and the top of their column in the day view. Their appointments now use the same colour, so you can read a whole week at a glance.

Everything else works as before. A finished appointment still turns hollow, a request is still dashed, and the name still shows on each appointment.

  3. Your site in your exact brand colours

    New

Set your own colours for the background, buttons and links, and tags and highlights, and type any corner radius.

Your site used to take one colour from you and work out the rest, with a tint of it for the page and a readable shade of it for the buttons. It still does that for anything you leave blank, but if your brand uses more than one colour, you can now set each one yourself.

In Appearance, then Theme, you'll find three new fields under your brand colour:

    • Background: the colour of the page itself. Cards and the blocks between sections follow it in the same shade.
    • Buttons and links: the colour of your Book now button and every link.
    • Tags and highlights: the tags on your team's cards, the highlighted option in a drop-down, and a booking step's Confirm button until it can be pressed.

Until you type or pick a colour, each field shows the one your site would choose on its own, and the × beside it brings that back. If you set a dark background, your site switches to dark mode with it, and back again if you change it to a light one.

Corner radius now takes a number. The four presets are still there, and you can type a value such as 12 for something between them.

The # in a colour field stays in place, so you can paste a colour code with or without it.

  4. Your dashboard tells you more at a glance

    Improved

See who is in the chair, how today compares with a typical day, and everyone on your team in their own colour.

The overview now opens with four figures that change through the day: who is next or in the chair, and what is still to come. What is booked today is compared with a typical day (the same weekday over recent weeks), alongside how much open time is still unbooked. Below them is one row for each person working today, showing their day as a bar and when they're next free.

Everyone on your team now has their own colour. It follows them into the calendar, the bookings list, a booking's details and the staff picker, so you can see whose appointment it is at a glance.

Analytics shows your busiest times by day and hour together, and how many of the customers who booked had been before. Press a service or a team member in the breakdowns to open it.

Bookings, Customers, Team, Services and Availability now open with their own figures, such as what is pending, who is working today and what is still unbooked.

Settings now shows one card per tab. Hours draws your week as you type it, and every open day has a button that copies its hours to all the others. To rename someone, press their name in the title of their page.

  5. You can now take online payments

    New

The full price or a deposit when customers book, straight into your own Stripe account.

Customers can now pay when they book, not only at the appointment. The money goes straight to your own Stripe account. Stripe takes its card processing fee, and Rantevo takes nothing.

Setting it up: go to Settings, then Payments, then Connect Stripe. Stripe opens in a new tab and asks for your business and bank details. Only the owner can connect it. Card payments switch on as soon as Stripe has everything it asks for.

How customers pay: on the same tab, pick one of three options.

    • Customer chooses: the full price now, or pay at the appointment
    • Full price: all of it when they book
    • Deposit: a fixed amount or a percentage now, and the rest at the appointment

Customers see the amount on Stripe's page, under your business name, before they pay.

Refunds: if a customer cancels online before your cancellation window closes, or you cancel their booking, what they paid goes back to them automatically. If they don't turn up and you mark a no-show, you keep it. You can also refund a booking yourself, in full or in part, with Refund on the booking. Stripe keeps its processing fee on a refund.

Payments, a new page beside Analytics, shows your Stripe balance, your payouts, and every payment, refund and dispute, each linked to its booking. Owners and managers can see it.

  6. Put your site on your own domain

    New

Buy one through us or connect one you already have, from Domain.

Your site starts on a free rantevo.com address. You can now move it to a domain of your own without asking us.

Where to find it: in your admin's side menu, under Rantevo, open Domain. Only the owner sees it.

Buying one: search under Buy a domain. Each result shows what the first year costs and what every year after that costs, before you pay. We register it and set it up, and your site moves to it, usually within a minute or two.

Connecting one you own: type it under Connect one you own. The page lists the records to add where you manage the domain, each ready to copy, and checks them for you. Once they're in place, your site moves over.

Your old address keeps working. It sends visitors on to the new one, so anyone following a link you've already shared still reaches your site. To move back, press Move your site here beside it, under Other addresses.

  7. Add a customer, or delete one for good

    New

Both from Customers, without waiting for a booking.

You can now add someone to your customer list before they have an appointment. Until now, the only way onto Customers was a booking.

To add one: open Customers in your admin, press Add customer and enter a name, email and phone number. They're added to your list and nothing is sent to them. If that email is already on someone's record, we tell you whose and offer to open it.

To delete one: open the customer and choose Delete customer under More actions. If they've booked with you, their appointments stay on your books with their name, email, phone and notes erased. If they've never booked, they're removed completely. Either way, the account they hold with your business is closed, and neither can be undone.

Someone who also works for you can't be deleted here. Remove their access from your team first.

Owners and managers can add customers, and only the owner can delete them.

  8. Download your customers and bookings

    New

Download either as a spreadsheet whenever you need it.

Your customer list and your appointments now download as CSV.

Where to find it: Settings, then Your data, with one file for customers and one for bookings. You can also download bookings from the bookings list, using the filters you have set there, so the file matches what's on screen.

The customer file includes how many times each person has booked and which messages they agreed to receive from you. The bookings file includes each booking's services, team members and amount.

Both files open in Excel, Numbers and Google Sheets, and Greek names show correctly.

  9. Number boxes no longer refill themselves

    Fixed

Booking windows, notice periods and visit counts can be typed over properly.

Deleting the last digit in a number box used to put a value straight back under your cursor. Typing 60 over it then gave you 160 or 601, depending on where the cursor had landed.

Where it happened: how far ahead customers can book, the cancellation and reschedule windows, the minimum notice before an appointment, and the "after so many visits" box your customers meet in the booking form.

Now an empty box stays empty while you type. If you click away without finishing, it goes back to the value it had instead of jumping to the lowest number allowed.

  10. Your dashboard now opens on today

    Improved

Today's appointments come first, with the free time between them.

The dashboard used to open on a setup checklist and four tiles of 30-day totals, numbers that don't change during the day.

Now it opens on today: every appointment in order, with the gaps between them shown, so you can see at once which time is still free.

It updates on its own. When someone else takes a booking while the page is open, it appears without a reload. The bookings list and your support threads update the same way.

Beside it you'll see the week ahead and who is arriving. Figures for longer periods have moved to Analytics, where each one is compared with the same length of time before it.

  11. Your services page is the menu customers see

    New

Grouped by category, dragged into the order you want, with a picture on each service.

Services used to be a flat table with a category column on every row. Now it shows your menu grouped by category, laid out the way a customer reads it.

Order: drag a category to move a whole section, or drag a service within its section or into a different one. The order you set here is the order on your booking site.

Icons and photographs: each category can have an icon and each service a photograph, and both show on your booking site. The category name appears once, as a heading, instead of on every row.
